Brands mugged by mobile

mobile-websiteWednesday’s metric: Close to 90% of US consumers harbour negative feelings towards brands which perform badly on mobile, according to a SOASTA/ Harris Interactive survey. Three quarters are annoyed, 69% frustrated and 19% disgusted with brands unable to get it together on mobile devices. So, if that mobile website takes a long time to load, 28% of consumers say they would head off to a competitor’s site, while 18% would never come back.

What do consumers want from a mobile site or app? Seventy two percent say, not unreasonably, that they want it work when they need it, two thirds want it to be fast, and just over half are simply happy when it doesn’t crash.
