Super social Asia

SocialAsian companies grab the first three spots in the Consumer Technology Social Index from Brandwatch, with Lenovo ahead of Nintendo and Samsung. That’s not all for the region, though, as ASUS, LG and HTC also place in the top 10. The top non-Asian brand to make a showing? That would be Intel.

OK, what’s being measured here? The index looks at a brand’s online performance across five different factors –social visibility, general visibility, net sentiment, reach growth, social engagement and content. And that’s because social media has become a critical space for tech brands to communicate with audiences and maintain their images, as well to address customer inquiries, Brandwatch explains.

And Lenovo comfortably outscores rivals across these metrics, thanks largely to its social visibility, which is a measure of the volume of conversation the brand is generating across key social channels. Why would that be? Brandwatch isn’t saying. All we know is that Lenovo tops the Consumer Technology Social Index because its scores better. And why are Asian brands performing so well? Ditto.
